I have surrendered my life to Christ
My salvation was not something that I strived to achieve by doing any deeds. There were no works that I would have done to obtain salvation. In other words, God in His sovereign will, decided to give me the (saving) faith through grace (his unmerited favor or his unmerited love or his unmerited mercy toward me) that was required to be saved. It was His plan since the beginning to save me and I did not do anything to influence His decision to do so.
Experiencing a God I never knew
Growing up in a catholic family, I always believed that there was a God and I prayed to him whenever I judged I needed Him. To me He was my last resort, when my own efforts and my friends advices were a failure, basically when I couldn’t take it anymore and I needed some kind of miracle to happen. Every time, I would promise Him to never stop praying if He answered me but every time I failed.
